Consumer Reports Rates Cell Phone Service
Dec 02 by Debra Kaufman | 5 CommentsIn a report that will hit the newsstands with the January 2010 issue (and online), Consumer Reports today stated that only 54 percent of respondents were “completely or very satisfied” with their cell phone service. The annual cell phone service survey was based on responses from more than 50,000 readers in 26 cities. One piece of good news for those interested in content on mobile devices: the survey reported that, in 2009, roughly 40 percent of survey responders said they access the Internet with their phones, up from 23 percent two years ago.

CTIA 2009: News from Verizon and T-Mobile

Verizon Wireless and Google announced a strategic partnership to leverage the Verizon Wireless network and the Android open platform to deliver mobile apps, services and devices. The two companies plan to co-develop several Android-based devices that will be preloaded with applications from both parties and 3rd party developers.

New York Times Weighs in on Mobile Competition

QuickPlay’s Mobile DVR

I had the mobile version of that epiphany with QuickPlay Media’s PrimeTime2Go, which is essentially a DVR for the mobile phone.

That means that advertisers will be able to send ads to individuals based on their previous behavior and profile: send that pet food ad to the person who visits sites for veterinarians. Since the mobile phone is the most individual device, always on and always with you, it just might be the Holy Grail for advertisers.
