Africa Diary: Cell Phone Documentary

Journalist/filmmaker L.M. Kit Carson is well-known in the film world, as screenwriter and/or producer for a long list of the kinds of films that filmmakers like. That’s why I was intrigued to meet him and his producer Cynthia Hargrave at the Mobile Entertainment Forum where they showed a short documentary made in Mozambique. What set the documentary apart was that it wasn’t shot with a film or digital camera, but with a cell phone camera, more specifically the Nokia N93 cell phone. The Mozambique documentary is one of a trilogy of films that will form Africa Diary, to be released on the Sundance Channel, the Sundance Channel website and on mobile.
