Mobile Excellence Awards Announces 2009 Finalists

The Mobile Excellence Awards just announced the 2009 finalists at the ShowStoppers event at CTIA in San Diego. Winners will be announced and celebrated on December 7, 2009 at an event the Sofitel Hotel in Los Angeles. The awards show is sponsored in part by GoTV Networks, Virgin Mobile, GameStop, Saffron Digital, KeyNote Systems, Azuki Systems and others, and supported by leading global industry organizations GSMA, Wireless Industry Partnership, ShowStoppers and MobileMonday.

CTIA 2009: News from Verizon and T-Mobile

San Diego, CA–CTIA had just started, and the news came rolling in. Verizon Wireless had several announcements. Verizon Wireless and Google announced a strategic partnership to leverage the Verizon Wireless network and the Android open platform to deliver mobile apps, services and devices. The two companies plan to co-develop several Android-based devices that will be preloaded with applications from both parties and 3rd party developers.
