NAB 2008-Las Vegas
You read right…today I saw–wearing anaglyph glasses — a reel of live action in stereoscopic 3D on an iPod.
That was thanks for Paradise FX Studios, the company based in Van Nuys, CA that specializes in 3D feature film production post production, 3D live concert and sports broadcasts, 3D commercials and theme park attractions. There’s already talk at this TV broadcast-centric trade show that 3D TV broadcasts are within reach (there are 1 million 3D-ready TV sets already in U.S. households).
But nobody has yet suggested that 3D was headed to the smallest screen…until now. Paradise FX Studios’ website features a reel of their 3D work and has made that reel downloadable to the iPod. Go to www.paradisefx.com to download the reel. If you need a pair of anaglyph glasses to view it, contact Jim Hays, Paraise FX’s digital workflow manager at jim@paradisefx.com — and tell him that MobilizedTV sent you.
